If you want to learn AI in Accra and walk away with something you actually made, The AI Build Shop was built for you. It’s four hands on Saturdays this November at Venture Nest in Osu, where people with no coding background build and publish their own website using AI. And the event now has a sponsor: the IDEAL Africa Foundation, which is covering the full fee for five participants.

If this is the first you’re hearing about it, welcome. I’ll start with what the workshop actually is, then introduce IDEAL Africa and why I think the two belong together.
What is The AI Build Shop?
The AI Build Shop, or TABS for short, is the first workshop from The August Dispatch. A lot of AI learning happens by watching: a talk, a YouTube video, a long thread on X. TABS is built around doing instead.

Each Saturday pairs a short talk with a long stretch of building time. Over the four weeks you’ll learn to write good prompts, create and edit images with AI, plan a website, and build it with vibe coding, which means describing what you want in plain English and letting AI write the code. Then you publish it, and learn how to keep it updated after the course ends.
What you build is up to you. It could be a site about you and your work, a page for a product or service you sell, or an idea you care about. Finished sites are featured on a TABS showcase, and the final Saturday is Demo Day, when everyone presents what they built.
You don’t need any tech background. Bring a laptop and your curiosity.
Meet IDEAL Africa, our new sponsor
The IDEAL Africa Foundation is building what it calls the continent’s largest peer to peer network of exceptional Africans. Its goal is to bring 100,000 young Africans into that network over the next five years, so that African talent can stand shoulder to shoulder with peers anywhere in the world on skill, work ethic and innovation.
The name carries the mission. IDEAL stands for the foundation’s five core values: Innovation, Discipline, Entrepreneurship, Accountability and Leadership.
The scale of that goal makes sense when you look at the numbers. In its Generation 2030 Africa 2.0 report, UNICEF projected that Africa’s population of children under 18 will reach about 750 million by 2030. That generation is growing up as AI becomes part of everyday work, and practical skills will decide who benefits from it.
Five sponsored seats, and how to apply
IDEAL Africa is sponsoring five people to attend TABS 1.0, covering their full place for all four Saturdays. The foundation runs its own application process and chooses the five, looking for people who fit its mission of empowering young Africans.
If you’d like to be considered, fill in IDEAL Africa’s application form. There are only five sponsored places, so if you know you want to be in the room, you can also register directly at events.theaugustdispatch.com.
Why this partnership fits
TABS is about turning curiosity about AI into something real you can point to. IDEAL Africa is about turning young African potential into skilled, confident people. Those two ideas sit comfortably together.
Read the five values again with a TABS lens. Innovation is the whole point of building with new tools. Discipline is showing up four Saturdays in a row and finishing what you started. Entrepreneurship is the participant who uses their new site to sell a product or pitch a service. Accountability is Demo Day, when you stand up and show your work. Leadership is what happens afterwards, when you show a friend, a colleague or your team how you did it.
For a first edition event, an organisation like IDEAL Africa putting its name behind TABS means a lot. It tells everyone walking into Venture Nest on 7 November that others believe this is worth backing, and we’re grateful for that support.

Frequently asked questions

The AI Build Shop is designed for complete beginners. It runs on four Saturdays in November 2026 at Venture Nest in Osu, and you leave having built and published your own website with AI. No coding experience is needed.
Who is the IDEAL Africa Foundation?
IDEAL Africa is a foundation building a peer to peer network of exceptional young Africans, with a goal of onboarding 100,000 people in five years. Its name comes from its five values: Innovation, Discipline, Entrepreneurship, Accountability and Leadership. It is sponsoring five participants at TABS 1.0, chosen through its own application form.
Can my organisation sponsor The AI Build Shop?
Yes. We’re open to conversations with organisations that want to support practical AI skills in Ghana. Email theteam@augustwheel.com or send a WhatsApp message to 0207926546.
Build one real thing
AI isn’t going to wait for anyone to feel ready. The quickest way to stop feeling behind is to build one real thing with it, in a room full of people doing the same. That’s what four Saturdays at Venture Nest are for.
